Moving your existing customer and property rental data, even outstanding invoices and contracts, into with Barefoot Agent™ is the most important part of the process we have created to assist you. An Overview Data porting is the process of transferring data from one electronic data format to another, including editing existing data format, examining missing information, improving data quality and removing duplicate records. This process is done either manually or through the development of custom code to facilitate the process. Typically, we try to transfer your data into a staging area, such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access. We then import the raw data into Barefoot Agent TM. Data porting is not an exact science, and it will require you proofread your data Barefoot Agent™ to verify that everything is correct. Barefoot will provide an exception report to help you in checking your data. Data Porting Process The most important step in any data transfer process is the backup procedure. In an effort to protect the data, we ask that you back up your data on your existing system prior to any transfer of If you are unfamiliar with putting your information into one of these formats, we will be happy to provide you with assistance. A Barefoot representative will need access to your system. Once your data is in an electronic format, we can begin the data porting process, which will consist of mapping and transferring your data into the database design developed for you by Barefoot. Barefoot can also transfer pictures electronically and optimize the images for you. Please note, as we mentioned above, you are responsible for you data after the process is complete. Other Options You may enter information manually into the Barefoot Agent™ system. The Cost Barefoot estimates the cost of each porting task individually.
